Track heavy 10 and rail out 3m.
Race 1
1. Polymer is an emerging four-year-old primed to break through second-up and four weeks between runs over more ground, despite drawing the outside barrier. Finished hard to miss by a whisker on a soft 7 and is bred to thrive in heavy. 4. Cherry Jubilee has placed twice in three runs back from a spell and has a liking for wet tracks. 5. Lykos, which drew the fence deep into her prep, and 7. Miss Bugatti, also from a low draw and trained on the track, head the rest.
How to play it: Polymer to win.
Race 2
1. Cool Zousain is a provincial-based three-year-old that can pay back punters after missing on debut as a hot favourite here. Fitter now, stays at the trip, and even better suited on heavier ground being by Zousain. Drawn away from the fence. 9. Red Chick is an emerging filly returning for only her third start off a dominant trial win. Like the top selection, she is trained at Gosford, and the stable is having a solid run. 5. Markwell Topsort has beaten all but the winner in two runs to start his career and steps out over a bit more ground. Gap to the rest headed by honest mare 8. Oakfield Mars, resuming with no public trials; while 7. Legacy Prevailed is on debut behind two quiet trials and can add value into exotics.
How to play it: Cool Zousain to win.
Race 3
2. Youwroteuponit is an ex-Victorian mare resuming for her first outing with the new Port Macquarie stable in a race with plenty of depth and chances. Won comfortably on debut last year, and while she’s untested in such heavy conditions, is bred to relish it. Hasn’t officially trialled, but reportedly working well, and multiple gear changes is a strong pointer from the stable. 1. Da Snoop Dog is a Gold Coast-based colt hopping the border after three runs back from a spell. Went down narrowly in heavy going two starts back, and the jockey booking is significant. 9. Powerful Tune will be hard to catch from a low draw after a smart debut win here in heavy going, beating the on top selection in the previous race. 4. Kissavos is very fit, and reloads off a dominant fourth-up barrier-to-box win here three weeks ago. 3. Immortal Storm is a real wet-tracker coming off a tough win after a six-month spell. 7. Sirsa Nuwa resumes after bolting in her maiden by five lengths at Port nine weeks back.
How to play it:Youwroteuponit to win.
Race 4
3. Microgravity is well placed at his third start after hitting the line late behind the winner in a handy maiden at Quirindi. Drawn to get to the outside, and bred to get further so naturally will be strong late. 8. Moana Gold did her best work late third-up in a deeper race at Wyong when rock solid in the market. Keep safe 11. Wootton Please, which has run into the placings at her last two, down a shade in weight and comfortable on heavy ground, and was scratched from Gunnedah on Sunday to be saved for this. Provincial-based 6. Czech Her Out who prefers wet tracks, is capable of filling the minor money.
How to play it: Microgravity to win.
Race 5
8. Moonlight Diva is a pure wet-tracker that can strike in an open race from a better draw if she backs up in three days after a torrid Class 1 run at Inverell. Surged home to win her maiden on a bog track two starts ago after being backed from $5 into $3.60. 2. He’s Godspeed is overdue for a win dropping in grade. That said, he’s up sharply in weight and not proven in these conditions. 1. Damascus Gate has been up for a long time, but continues to race well. Will find this a bit easier than his last couple, drops in weight after the claim, and four of his seven career wins have come in heavy going. Gap to the rest headed by 3. Deep Drive fifth-up, 9. Highland Hustle, deep into her campaign, and 4. King Soleil, coming off a heavy track win in a weaker race, which all go through trifecta and first fours.
How to play it: Moonlight Diva to win.
Race 6
2. Dingle Grey is a progressive provincial-based filly that can go on her merry way rising in class and claim a third win from four in her first full prep. Had excuses two starts back at Gosford before sweeping home to easily win a Class 1 at Quirindi. This is tougher, but she’s unbeaten on soft ground and still on the up. 3. Andale Andale has enough ability to trouble the top selection deep into her prep and five weeks between runs. Comes back from a deeper Class 3 Highway and is already a heavy-track winner. 4. Patrioticintention has to overcome a wide draw, but is hard fit and was dominant surging home in heavy ground at Port in a Class 2 only a week ago. Gap to the rest headed by 8. Take The Jackpot, improving third-up, and 7. Phoenix Power, resuming off a quiet trial.
How to play it: Dingle Grey to win.
Race 7
4. Yesspecially steps up in trip behind an impressive debut win in heavy going, surging home from just off speed as a short-priced favourite. Further boosted by one of the main market rivals being preferred at Gunnedah on Sunday. Keep safe 7. Mane Character, a provincial-based mare dropping in class third-up, and bred to handle the ground. 2. Rockbarton Marshal is over the odds four weeks after a second start Super Maiden win on a soft 7. 10. Koritsi, hard fit and reloading off a heavy track maiden win here as a short-priced favourite, is the best of the rest.
How to play it: Yesspecially to win.
RACE 8
6. Come On Glamour is another progressive filly by Zousain that could bring punters home with a wet sail first-up. Won two straight to cap last prep both from in front and off speed and thrives in the going. Looks well treated at the weights after the jockey’s claim. 3. What A Rush is overdue, but three of her four career wins have come on rain-affected ground, and a far superior and stronger jockey takes over. 9. Flying Shelly is a big watch fresh behind a heavy track trial. 7. Where’s The Fire is a versatile local chasing a third successive win on rain-affected ground. 11. Shoutaboutit, back from a stronger provincial race, and 14. Brazen Brando, which has twice been narrowly beaten in weaker races this prep, are both each-way chances.
How to play it: Come On Glamour to win.
