Mladost is one step away from reaching the final of the Croatian League. The Zagreb-based team defeated their archrival Jug 11:9 in the first semifinal match.
Mladost controlled the match. Jug had only an early and short-lived lead (1:0). Mladost quickly turned the score, but Jug didn’t let the hosts build a big advantage, leveling the score five times (2;2, 3:3, 4:4, 6:6 and 7:7). After the visitors’ seventh goal, Mladost wnt to 9:7. For the remainder of the game, Jug reduced the gap to one twice, but had no response to Konstantin Kharkov’s goal in the 27th minute, 11:9.
The top scorers were Mladost’s Marko Radulovic and Ivan Nagaev, and Vlaho Pavlic (Jug) with three goals each. The home team’s goalkeeper, Mauro Ivan Cubranic, displayed a very good performance, posting 14 saves, including two penalty shots.
The first match between Jadran and Primorje has been postponed because Jadran played in the Euro Cup final in Marseille yesterday.
