Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, on Tuesday, inspected the blast site in Vizag Steel Plant where eight workers were charred to death. He condoled the families of the deceased workers and said that such an incident had not happened in the last 33 years. He ordered investigation into the blast by a three-member committee.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said that the workers informed him of another incident before the blast. He assured government support to the workers.
Iterating that he was committed to non-privatisation of the steel plant, he urged the VSP authorities to keep a constant vigil and ensure that such incidents did not repeat.
He said that action would be taken basing on the report submitted by the three-member panel.
Earlier, the Deputy Cm visited KIMS Hospital in Vizag where the injured in the blast are receiving treatment. He spoke to the families affected by the VSP blast and promised that the government would bear all the expenditure incurred towards the treatment of the injured workers.
