Katy Perry says nobody comes close to Justin Trudeau in a blow to ex Orlando Bloom and former husband Russell Brand.

The couple have been dating since last summer after the former Canadian Prime Minister wooed the pop star following months of dating. They have now taken a big step forward after their first red carpet together at the premiere of her concert film Katy Perry The Lifetimes Tour – Live From Paris at the Annual Tribeca Festival in New York.

He was by Katy’s side the whole night, and would have been thrilled to heart her answer when she was grilled out the man who means the most to her. During a question-and-answer session following the screeninglast night, smitten Katy confessed that Justin was the “love of my life”.

Speculation of a potential new romance arrived a year ago after it was announced just weeks ago that Katy, 41, had split up from actor Orlando Bloom, 49 Politician Justin, 54, had also gone through a high-profile separation in recent years too, having shared that he had split from his wife Sophie Trudeau, 51, back in 2023.

They went public last October, after more than three months of seeing one another. While speaking about the shows featured in the film had an impact in her life, she confirmed that they were an item during the final performances, which took place towards the end of 2025.

“I would say now at the end of 91 shows, I feel like a more grounded person in so many aspects of my life. I am very in love,” she went on to say. “Actually, that show was after I met the love of my life, and so I felt very anchored by that, because I’m a little bit like a rainbow kite.

“I fly super high and like touch the veiled cosmos, and sometimes I need to be anchored, so to have that anchor finally makes me feel really whole now.”

The songstress – whose split from film-star fiancé Orlando Bloom was announced in June of last year – share a five-year-old daughter, Daisy. A rep for the former couple said at the time the pair “have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting”.

While Orlando hasn’t felt moved to remark about their romance, there’s little than her ex husband Brand won’t be drawn on.

In an attack on her new boyfriend, Brand – preparing for his up-coming trial – hit out at her in an bizarre attack. Brand was charged in April with one count each of rape, indecent assault and oral rape, as well as two counts of sexual assault, relating to four separate women, in alleged assaults said to date back 26 years.

He found time for a dig at Katy’s new man, saying: “I’ve got nothing but good things to say about Katy Perry or indeed anybody. Justin Trudeau on the other end. Oh man.

“Look, the biggest threat to our society is political leaders that have no authentic power, that seem to be operating on behalf of global bureaucracies that seem to get kind of auditioned into political power.

“We have it in my country, in France, we have it everywhere. We know these are not real political leaders or real political figures. You can see it by looking at them. They are the operatives of deeper interest, shall we say. Whether that’s the when or the who or something more occult that I don’t understand.”
