The Godfather Part III star Anthony Guidera has died aged 65 his devastated wife has confirmed. His passing comes three weeks after his heart stopped for unknown reasons.
Wife Valarie explained that her husband had been hospitalised and placed on life support following the mystery issue. He remained there for three weeks before his death.
Anthony, who appeared alongside Al Pacino in the 1990 Francis Ford Coppola crime thriller The Godfather Part III, died on Saturday. His cause of death remains unknown, but Valarie revealed that the actor had been on life support since May 11.
Speaking to TMZ, she said her husband collapsed in their Southern California home after experiencing a cardiac emergency and was rushed to the hospital.
She revealed that after spending three weeks on a ventilator, she decided to remove him from life support, per his prior requests. He then spent his last moments peacefully at home.
He played the part of a loyal bodyguard for the Corleone family, in the third instalment of the iconic Godfather trilogy.
Other credits include the role of Robbie in the 1995 sci-fi movie Species. The part landed him and his co-star Natasha Henstridge
Smaller parts included roles in hit films such as The Rock, The Postman, and Armageddon. HIs last appearance on screen came in 2005.
He featured in crime comedy L.A. Dicks opposite Dean Alioto and Sarah Wynter.
