Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has revealed that she is considering fostering children as she hopes to expand her family due to ‘adoring kids’
Helen Flanagan is hoping to become a foster parent. The ex-Coronation Street actress, who is mum to Matilda, Delilah and Charlie with former fiancé Scott Sinclair, revealed that motherhood sits at the very heart of her existence and confessed she envisions herself supporting additional children in years to come.
In a new interview, the actress said: “I absolutely love children. When I’m older, I think fostering could be something lovely to do. I’ve always adored kids.” The star has consistently demonstrated her devotion to motherhood, ensuring those in her inner circle understand that her family takes precedence above all else.
When questioned about how children would characterise her, the former Corrie favourite responded: “Mad, but in the best way. Funny. And a good mum.”
While she’s carved out an impressive career across television and acting, Helen acknowledges her most cherished experiences typically unfold at home with her children. She regularly offers snapshots of domestic life through social media, noting that motherhood fundamentally transformed her perspective on everything, reports the Daily Star.
Notwithstanding the inevitable hurdles of raising three little ones, Helen has wholeheartedly welcomed parenthood and now harbours hopes of potentially providing care and stability to vulnerable children requiring support.
Beyond her family commitments, the soap star confesses she remains a true romantic. “I’m very emotional and very romantic, so if I’m in love, I’m really in love,” she revealed. “Everything feels very intense.”
However, while Helen is open with her emotions, she maintains high standards in the dating world. “Honestly, I get the ick easily,” she admitted with a laugh.
“I’m very down to earth and romantic, but I need a real connection with someone. I have to feel understood. I’m not shallow at all. I care far more about personality and connection than anything else.”
Yet one aspect that’s unlikely to alter is her passion for looking polished. She quipped: “I’m also extremely glamorous in a very northern way.
“No matter what’s happening in my life, I’ll always have my French manicure, hair extensions, blow dry and glam done.” Just days ago, Helen opened up to Lewis Nicholls about her love life and how she believes the next man she dates, will be her husband.
She said: “I do feel that when I do next have my next relationship, and I think that when I have my next relationship, I think it will be my husband.” But while she shares insights into her life online, she will be keeping her next relationship private.
Helen explained: “I think it will be the real thing. I will choose to protect it and I will keep that private. I will probably say who that person is, but I will want to protect it. I will want to keep it private.”
She continued: “I’ll want to keep it really special, because I kind of feel like everybody’s always got something to say. My next relationship I have I think will be my husband, because I won’t be wasting my time, really. I will want to choose to protect it, definitely.”
