Ariana Grande Clarified Cheating Rumours Of Ethan Slater When He Split From Ex-Wife Lilly Jay

Ariana Grande refuted the cheating rumours surrounding her relationship with Ethan Slater, calling the tabloid narratives “bullshit” and completely false. During an interview with Vanity Fair, she hit back at the backlash, saying that celebrity gossip was an easy source of money for the tabloids. According to her, the “negativity” that such reports spread was unnecessary. Regarding her closeness with Ethan, she said that while working on Wicked together, “a lot of life changes” occurred. Her exact words were:

“It definitely doesn’t get any easier, seeing some of the negativity that was birthed by disreputable tabloids. Of course, I went through a lot of life changes during the filming of this movie [Wicked]. A lot of people that were working on it did. We were away for two years. So, of course, I understand why it was a field day for the tabloids to sort of create something that paid their bills.”

Ethan Slater became a hated entity when he got together with Ariana Grande just a few months after the birth of his son, whom he shares with Lilly Jay. Amid his cheating rumours, his then-girlfriend, Ariana Grande strongly defended him, stating that the tabloid portrayal of him was deeply “inaccurate.” She told Vanity Fair that Ethan had many enduring traits and was not someone who would cheat on his partner. According to the bloodline singer, there was no one more loving and caring towards their near and dear ones than Ethan. Talking about his pure heart, she stated:

“There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him….No one on this earth tries harder or spreads themselves thinner to be there for the people that he loves and cares about. There is no one on this earth with a better heart, and that is something that no bullshit tabloid can rewrite in real life.”
