During the Expo, the pavilion operated under the theme “Thank You for Life,” featuring displays such as a moving iPS heart and a “Tree of Life Evolution” exhibit that attracted about 2.15 million visitors. The Atom statue, a symbol of the pavilion, was taken down on October 30th.
When seen from the roof, the statue appeared small, but its true size surprised onlookers as it was lowered to the ground. Pasona plans to move the statue and most of the pavilion’s exhibits to Awaji Island, where they will be reassembled as part of a new visitor facility. The facility is expected to open in about a year at the earliest.
