The Coronation Street actor unveiled the results of his latest procedure after previously opening up about the reasons that led him to undergo treatment

Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd has left his co-stars stunned after revealing the results of his latest surgery. On the latest episode of On The Sofa, the podcast he hosts with Colson Smith and Ben Price, the trio kicked things off by addressing “the elephant in the room” after Jack arrived in the studio wearing a hat.

After his co-stars speculated about what he might be hiding, the David Platt star revealed that he had undergone his third hair transplant.

“This is the hat-trick, this is the third,” he shared. The actor explained that he opted for a third procedure because “baldness still progresses as time goes on”.

“This is my third one. So most people are thinking, I thought you’d just get one air transplant and then it’s Elvis. But that’s not the case apparently, because baldness still progresses as time goes on.

“I had one in 2018, 2019 and now, now. So I’ve had it all done mainly at the front and in sections,” he added, before going on to reveal his new shaved head.

After removing his hat and seeing his co-stars’ reactions, the 38-year-old said: “That’s a shock ain’t it, that’s short.”

“I think it’s a look, you know,” Colson shared: “I actually quite like it,” before he and Ben burst into laughter.

Ben added: “I actually don’t think you look that bad,” to which Colson added: “Bald and beard’s a look.”

When his co-stars pointed out that he appeared to have some swelling, Jack replied in shock: “Has it swelled? I thought it was just exactly the same and just a bit red. I need a picture now.”

Jack went on to explain that, despite having three hair transplants, this was the first time he had shaved his head for the procedure.

“I didn’t know this but you get a lot more hair follicles if you shave the head. If you’re having to go in between hairs, it’s more difficult. So, the two times before, I only had 1500 hairs put in, so 3000, this one is 4000.”

According to Manchester Evening News, Jack previously said of his reasons for undergoing a hair transplant: “I know some people will say that I am being incredibly vain having a second hair transplant so quickly after the first one.

“All I can say to that was that I needed to do it for my long-term mental well-being. I have been in Corrie for 20 years now – ever since I was 12. I know I have been incredibly lucky and love working with such a fantastic group of actors but the relentless schedules take their toll on your mental health, particularly when you have been through as much trauma as David Platt.”
