The Sasural Simar Ka actress has been battling with stage 2 liver cancer, enduring chemotherapy, surgery, and emotional turmoil; however, her spirit remains unshaken. Dipika has revealed through her YouTube videos about her journey, vulnerabilities, and the strength that has kept her going.
Dipika’s Emotional Breakdown After Diagnosis
Dipika revealed that learning about her cancer was one of the hardest moments of her life. Recalling the day she broke down in front of her son, she said, “That was the first time that I sat in the car, and I had to give Ruhaan (her son) to my mother, as he was crying so much because I couldn’t feed him. And I just broke down.”
She shared that in that moment of helplessness, she just took a leap of faith. She added, “At that moment, a prayer came from my heart that if it’s cancer, I don’t have a complaint. I just want to get fine. I know you will make me better. And then we both broke down there.”
Opening Up About Fear, Acceptance & Strength
Speaking further about her initial reaction, Dipika admitted how terrifying the word “cancer” feels to anyone. She said, “That word itself is very scary for anyone. I mean, if anyone is told that they have cancer, something breaks inside them.”
Dipika shared that she and Shoaib cried together at the hospital, saying,
“So that’s why Shoaib and I did all the crying in that lobby. We both hugged each other and cried there. But after that, we both decided that we wouldn’t cry anymore. She was like, We both felt that, okay.”
A Mother Who Wants To Heal Her Child
Speaking about the treatment’s impact on her physical features, she shared that losing hair, gaining weight or not looking her best no longer concerns her. She said clearly, “Honestly, I have no complaints about not looking good or gaining weight or whether my hair will fall out.”
Her only prayer now is recovery, not for fame, not for appearances, but for motherhood. She said, “Throughout all of this, I always told him that I just want to come back fine and be here for Ruhaan.”
