Currently run by the group behind Shell House and The International in Sydney, the sprawling art deco boozer does a roaring trade in counter meals (burgers, bangers, mash, schnitzel and steak – all the hits) but the most delicious things come from the gleaming rotisserie. Consider the lamb and gravy roll for lunch, and a glorious slab of Berkshire porchetta at dinner. Beaut local wines are on the pour, too.
