Twisha Sharma, a former model and actress who reportedly died by suicide on May 12, 2026, was laid to rest at Bhopal’s Bhadbhada cremation ground. Her last rites were performed 12 days after her demise. Her body was handed to the family after the completion of the second autopsy by a special team of doctors that came from AIIMS Delhi. Grief loomed in the air after Twisha was wrapped in a red saree one last time, signifying the hopes and dreams she had built with the love of her life, Samarth Singh, that came all crashing down.

Twisha Sharma’s last rites were conducted in Bhopal

Twisha Sharma’s mother, Rekha, was engulfed in grief and struggled to give farewell to her daughter. Twisha’s relatives and family members all broke down during her last rites. According to reports on social media, her body was wrapped in a white and red cloth and covered with marigold garlands. She was wrapped in a red saree, one last time. Her last rites were held at the Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat (Shamshan Ghat), Muktidham, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

In the clips that have surfaced on social media, Twisha’s family is devastated and heartbroken, unable to hold back their tears. Her fairytale wedding saw a tragic end as, within five months of marriage, Twisha’s family claimed that she was mentally harassed.

Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, feels his daughter will be given justice

For any parent, the biggest loss in the world is the death of their child. Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, in an interview with ANI at the Shamshan Ghat, said he was emotional and wanted to bid farewell to his daughter, Twisha. He also revealed feeling confident about the fact that his innocent daughter will get justice and shared:

“The team from AIIMS have arrived, and we are confident they will bring us justice. The discrepancies will come forth. We were called for the body recognition protocol. Thanks to everyone, including the Chief Minister, who took cognisance and gave a recommendation of the CBI. This case will become a lesson, and anyone will think multiple times before doing such a thing with a daughter.”

Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, earlier in an interview with the NDTV, revealed that the Madhya Pradesh High Court had directed that Samarth could only surrender before an investigating officer or the trial court. He alleged that before any official papers related to the order could reach the authorities, Samarth had taken relief via proceedings in the Jabalpur court.

Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh, has been sent to seven days of police custody by a Bhopal court. A report by NDTV claimed that over the next seven days, Samarth will be grilled, and the questions will not be limited to a mere narration of events. Investigators will cross-examine his version in every layer. The relationship dynamics, varied disputes that took place, Twisha’s pregnancy, movements before her demise, crime scene, call records, CCTV footage and how Samarth conducted himself after the incident will be questioned.

Twisha Sharma’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the country. Her in-laws have alleged that she was addicted to drugs and was seeing someone outside of her marriage. Twisha’s family has claimed that she was harassed for dowry, due to which she died. Twisha’s cousin brother, in an interview with the ANI, revealed that they wanted her last rites to be done in Delhi. However, due to medical and practical concerns, it was not done, and he shared:

“We wanted to perform the last rites in Delhi, but I think it’s probably impractical in this heat to travel so far. Due to medical reasons, it’s been decided to perform her last rites in Bhopal.”
