Srikakulam: A woman from Srikakulam district has reportedly died under suspicious circumstances in Muscat. The deceased, identified as Savalapurapu Nagamani of Vedullavalasa village in Amadalavalasa mandal, was working in Muscat for the past four years.
According to her family members, they were informed that Nagamani had died in Muscat. Her mother, Sarojini, expressed doubts over the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.
Sarojini said Nagamani had gone to Muscat through an agent and had recently returned home before going back about four months ago. She reportedly told her family that she had been facing severe harassment at her workplace for the past three days and had planned to return home soon.
However, the family was later informed by the agent that Nagamani had died by suicide, which they suspect is untrue. The issue was brought to the attention of MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar, who contacted Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Efforts are now being made to bring Nagamani’s body back to India, her mother said.
