Sudarshan Reddy Asks Officials to Speed Up Paddy Procurement

Adilabad: Advisor to the Telangana government P. Sudarshan Reddy on Sunday instructed officials to speed up procurement of paddy and jowar and complete the process before the onset of rains.

Reviewing procurement operations in Nirmal district, he directed officials to deploy more lorries and hamalis to shift paddy to rice mills without delay.

Sudarshan Reddy said officials should take all necessary steps to protect farmers’ interests and prevent losses due to unseasonal rains.

Nirmal collector Bhavesh Mishra said additional vehicles and hamalis were being arranged and paddy stocks were being shifted to protected locations.

Later, Sudarshan Reddy and BC Welfare advisor Ch. Hanumantha Rao unveiled a statue of former TPCC president late P. Narsa Reddy at the bus stand in Nirmal town.

Telangana Urdu Academy chairman Taher Bin Hamdan, former minister I.K. Reddy, S. Venugopala Chary, members of Narsa Reddy’s family, Adilabad Market Committee chairman B. Srikanth Reddy and senior Congress leaders attended the programme.
