Telangana Reels under Blistering Heat as 4 Districts Cross 45°C

Hyderabad: Four districts – Adilabad, Hanamkonda, Khammam and Ramagundam registered a highest temperature hovering between 45 and 45.4 degrees Celsius on Saturday keeping the people on the edge. However, the sudden rain in the midnight brought much needed relief for them.

Khammam registered 45.4 degrees Celsius while Adilabad 45.3 degrees Celsius and Ramagundam 45.1 degrees Celsius and Hanamkonda 45 degrees Celsius. This followed by 43.5 degrees Celsius in Nizamabad, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Nalgonda and Medak districts registered 42.5 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius, respectively. Bhadrachalam recorded 40 degrees Celsius. The day temperatures hovered between 39.7 and 39 degrees Celsius in Hakimpet, Dundigal, Hyderabad and Mahbubnagar, the IMD said.

Meanwhile, in an yellow warning, the IMD said light rain five mm/hr and light thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speed less than 40 kmph are likely to occur in Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal and Narayanpet districts.
