As soon as the news of his hospitalisation came, his friends, fans, and the entire film fraternity felt deeply concerned. While several celebrities visited the hospital to check on his health, a wave of his death hoax also started making headlines. Distressed by this, his wife, Hema Malini, posted on her social media.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actress condemned the baseless news and issued a strong clarification about her husband’s condition. “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”

Meanwhile, senior actress and politician Bina Kak also sent her love and prayers for the ailing legend. Sharing a throwback picture of Dharmendra from his younger days, she opened up about her first meeting with him. “Dharam P ha jee (bhappa jee) that’s what I call him. First met him when I was deputy minister in 1986 in Rajasthan where he was shooting. He had come to meet then CM late Harideo Joshi jee… what a man he shook hands with me मेरा तो हाथ उनके बड़े हाथ में गुम ही गया!! Stayed in touch!!”
Calling him a “fighter,” Bina Kak ended the message praying for his speedy recovery. She wrote, “Stay there PA jee. You are a fighter, just be there. The Nation is praying for your Good health.”
