US President Donald Trump was booed by fans at Madison Square Garden during his appearance at the NBA Finals.
The president, who is the first sitting US leader to attend the championship series, watched the New York Knicks lose 111–115 to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 3, narrowing New York’s lead to 2–1.
Trump later insisted the reaction inside the arena was “mostly cheers”, describing the atmosphere as “loud” and “enthusiastic”.
