Yankees vs. Guardians prediction: MLB Tuesday odds, pick, best bet

The Yankees continue their series in Cleveland against the Guardians as they look to find some rhythm without their star, Aaron Judge, in the lineup.

The Yankees and Guardians are both near the top of the American League standings, but the Bombers have a lot to prove against good competition. In 15 games against the teams above .500, they’ve won just five games.

The Yankees will be the favorites on the road in their second game with -131 odds, while the Guardians are +109.

Yankees vs. Guardians prediction, best bet

Gerrit Cole is scheduled to be back on the mound Tuesday for his fourth start of the season.

It’s only fitting that Cole gets a chance to face the Guardians, who quickly brought the Yankees ace back to earth less than a week ago.

Cole was roughed up for the first time since returning from Tommy John surgery, giving up three home runs. It was the first game in which Cole didn’t make it through six innings, but outside of the home runs, he was optimistic about his performance.

“The command stayed really sharp, and I continued to push through jams late in the game,” Cole said during the postgame. “I really liked a lot of the efficient outs. I really liked a lot of the stuff we threw.”

That bodes well going into Tuesday’s tilt. After seeing this lineup once already, Cole should be able to make the necessary adjustments to avoid some of the mistakes he made last week. The sample size is admittedly small, but Cole has the best expected weighted on-base average (.251) and the best expected ERA (2.49) on the Yankees.

Since Cole gets to face the same team in his next turn in the rotation, I think there’s a ton of value in betting him to bounce back.

I’ll bet him to go under his total hits allowed and look for him to keep Cleveland’s bats quiet.
