ويأتي المشروع في إطار سعي الهيئة لتسخير الحلول الابتكارية المعتمدة على تقنيات التبريد الحديثة لخدمة حجاج بيت الله الحرام.
وأوضحت الهيئة العامة للطرق أن المساحة الإجمالية للمشروع بلغت 14 ألف متر مربع، جرى توزيعها على 3 مواقع جديدة ومستهدفة في مشعر منى، شملت تهيئة مسارات مخصصة لتسهيل حركة الحجاج من كبار السن والأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة لتيسير تنقلهم بين المحطات والمخيمات.

وأبانت الهيئة أن المادة المستخدمة في تبريد الطرق تتكون من طلاء أبيض محلي الصنع بالكامل، يتميز بقدرته العالية على عكس أشعة الشمس وتقليل امتصاص الأسفلت للحرارة خلال ساعات النهار، مما يسهم بشكل مباشر في خفض حرارة الأسطح الطريقة بمعدل يصل إلى 15 درجة مئوية، فضلاً عن دورها الفاعل في تلطيف الأجواء المحيطة بمناطق الانتظار والتدفقات البشرية المرتفعة، تحقيقاً لمستهدفات الجودة والسلامة الاستراتيجية لقطاع الطرق في المشاعر المقدسة.
