صرّح المتحدث الرسمي لوزارة الدفاع بأنه تم رصد محاولة هجوم استهدفت مصفاة رأس تنورة، مشيرًا إلى أن التقديرات الأولية تفيد بأن الهجوم نُفذ باستخدام طائرة مسيّرة.
وأوضح أن الجهات المختصة تعاملت مع الحادثة وفق الإجراءات المتبعة، مؤكدًا أنه لم ينتج عن المحاولة أي أضرار بشرية أو مادية، ولله الحمد.
وأضاف أن وزارة الدفاع تتابع التطورات بالتنسيق مع الجهات ذات العلاقة، وتتخذ كافة التدابير اللازمة لحماية المنشآت الحيوية والحفاظ على أمن وسلامة المواطنين والمقيمين.
