وأكدت شرطة وادي التايمز حيث يقع المقر الملكي (رويال لودج) الذي كان يقيم فيه أندرو حتى وقت قريب، في بيان نبأ توقيفه في بيان. وهو شقيق الملك تشارلز الثالث.
وكانت الشرطة قد أشارت سابقا إلى أنها “تُقيّم” معلومات تفيد بأن أندرو سرّب معلومات يُحتمل أن تكون سرية إلى المتمول الأميركي جيفري إبستين المدان باعتداءات جنسية، خلال فترة توليه منصب المبعوث الخاص للمملكة المتحدة للتجارة الدولية بين عامي 2001 و2011.
