وقال في مؤتمر صحفي عقده في فيلادلفيا: “إذا مددتم (الأزمة) أسبوعا من اليوم، أيها الديمقراطيون، فسترون فوضى عارمة… وتأخيرات كثيرة في الرحلات الجوية“.

وأضاف: “سترون إلغاءات كثيرة، وقد نغلق أجزاء معينة من المجال الجوي، لأننا ببساطة لا نستطيع إدارتها لعدم توافُر مراقبين للحركة الجوية”.
