وقال هيغسيث في منشور على منصة إكس: “بدأت القوات الأمريكية عملية +ضربة عين الصقر+ في سوريا للقضاء على مقاتلين وبنى تحتية ومواقع تخزين أسلحة لتنظيم داعش، في رد مباشر على الهجوم الذي استهدف قوات أمريكية في 13 ديسمبر”.
