With big needs along the defensive line, the 49ers are dipping into their draft bag to add an impact player.
The club has agreed to send a third-round pick in next month’s draft to the Cowboys for defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.
A former third-round pick of the Cowboys in 2021, and the recipient of a four-year contract extension worth $80 million last season, the 27-year-old Odighizuwa played in all 17 games last year, recording 44 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Over his career, he has 216 tackles and 17 sacks.
The 49ers will assume his $16.25 million base salary for the 2026 season. He has non-guaranteed salaries of $20 million for both the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
