Steve Jyrwa has emerged as the winner of India’s Best Dancer Season 4, taking home the coveted trophy along with a cash prize of ₹15 lakh and a car. The 17-year-old dancer from Shillong expressed his disbelief and joy, reflecting on his remarkable journey from being unable to walk as a child to becoming a celebrated dancer.
In an emotional statement, Steve dedicated his victory to his mother and grandmother, who played pivotal roles in his recovery and support. He noted, “This achievement is very important for me… I have proved them wrong,” referring to relatives who doubted his pursuit of dance. His choreographer, Raktim Thakuria, also received recognition with a cash prize of ₹5 lakh.
Judged by Karisma Kapoor, Geeta Kapur, and Terence Lewis, Steve’s performances were lauded for their energy and precision, particularly his footwork. He plans to use the prize money to support his family and continue honing his skills in dance. Steve’s win not only marks a personal triumph but also serves as an inspiration for others facing challenges in their journeys.
