Holly Willoughby took to Instagram to share a sweet snap with her former This Morning colleague Clodagh McKenna as she said she had a ‘full heart’ two years after exit

Holly Willoughby reunited with former This Morning colleague Clodagh McKenna, two years after she left her presenting duties on the ITV show following a terrifying kidnap and murder plot.

Holly, 44, spent the day with her older sister Kelly, 47, and Clodagh, 50, in a stylish country kitchen as Holly shared they had ‘full tummy’s and full hearts’ on her Instagram. Holly was snapped grinning from ear to ear as she posed in the middle of the women as they all held hands.

Holly had her glossy blonde hair in loose waves and looked stylish in a tweed coat. Kelly also matched the country-style backdrop in a khaki farmer jacket, while former This Morning culinary expert Clodagh looked cosy in a cream cable knit sweater.

Holly promoted her lifestyle brand Wylde Moon in the caption while also mentioning Clodagh’s own company Honey by Clodagh. She wrote: “Full tummy’s and full hearts… lovely day with @clodagh_mckenna and @ladywilloughby … Finally introduced @wyldemoon to @honeybyclodagh … they love each other”.

The post from Holly comes two years after her departure from This Morning. She had worked as a co-presenter for 14 years alongside Phillip Schofield before she confirmed that she ‘will not be returning’.

In the months leading up to her departure, Holly suffered several blows, which seemed to begin when she and Phillip were accused of queue jumping at the Lying-in-State of Queen Elizabeth II.

Her relationship with Phillip reportedly deteriorated further in the months following, and then the news emerged that Phillip had been having an ‘unwise but not illegal’ affair with a younger male colleague, which Holly was reportedly not aware of.

Then a security guard was jailed over a plot to kidnap, rape and murder Holly following a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court. Gavin Plumb was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years.

In October 2023, following the events, Holly announced that she was leaving the ITV daytime show as she said it was a ‘difficult goodbye’. In a statement shared on Instagram, Holly wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.

“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you. Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.

“Richard and Judy said, ‘We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers.’ It’s been an honour to just be part of it’s story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly.”
