Celtic produced a second-half turnaround in Glasgow.

Celtic claimed their first win in the Europa League this season as they came from behind to beat Sturm Graz 2-1.

It looked like being another miserable night at Celtic Park for the hosts when Tomi Horvat curled a sublime opener into the top-left corner in the 15th minute.

But Liam Scales levelled with a composed finish in the 61st minute before the profligate Benjamin Nygren finally took an opportunity and headed home what proved to be the winner.

Tochi Chukwuani’s rash challenge on Callum McGregor saw the visitors reduced to 10 men, smoothing Celtic’s path to a much-needed victory.

Old Firm rivals Rangers had no such upturn in fortunes as they lost 3-0 at Brann, while Aston Villa were stunned 2-1 by Go Ahead Eagles.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest opened the Sean Dyche era with an impressive 2-0 win over Porto.

PAOK stun Lille in seven-goal thriller

The game of the night came in Lille, where the Ligue 1 side lost 4-3 to PAOK.

Soualiho Meite put POAK ahead in the 18th minute, before goals from Andrija Zivkovic and Giannis Konstantelias appeared to have made the points safe.

Benjamin Andre and Hamza Igamane had Lille believing a second-half comeback was on the cards. However, four minutes after missing a penalty, Zivkovic gave PAOK a two-goal cushion again with his second.

Igamane gave Lille hope once more 12 minutes from the end of normal time, but PAOK hung on, the visitors finishing the game with 10 men when Tomasz Kedziora was sent off deep into stoppage time.

There was better fortune for Lille’s Ligue 1 rivals Lyon, who beat Basel 2-0 thanks to goals from Corentin Tolisso and Afonso Moreira. Nice lost 2-1 at Celta Vigo.

Roma lose at home again

Roma have made a strong start to Serie A, but they were beaten again in Europe at the Stadio Olimpico as Viktoria Plzen claimed a shock win.

Two goals in the space of three minutes from Prince Adu and Cheick Souare gave the Czech side command.

Paulo Dybala pulled one back from the penalty spot in the second, but Plzen held firm to replicate Lille’s victory over the Giallorossi.

Bologna, one place below Roma in fifth in Serie A, were 2-1 winners at FCSB.

Kerem Akturkoglu’s penalty gave Fenerbahce a 1-0 win over Stuttgart, whose Bundesliga rivals Freiburg beat Utrecht 2-0.

Feyenoord claimed their first win of the league phase, coming from behind to see off Panathinaikos 3-1

Braga and Midtjylland joined Lyon in making it three wins from three to start the league phase. The Portuguese side saw off Red Star Belgrade 2-0, while Midtjylland were 3-0 winners over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Last season’s Conference League finalists Real Betis drew 0-0 with Genk.
