Nick had made a plea saying that he needed a kidney donor and also shared that his blood type was O positive. He had penned down on October 14, 2025:
“This isn’t an easy message to share, but I want to be open about what’s been happening with me and my health. In 2006, I was diagnosed with a genetic defect that has led to chronic kidney disease. After a rough summer, I’m undergoing dialysis as we look for a kidney transplant. I always knew this day would come, but I thought I would have had more time.”
Nick Mangold also mentioned that he did not have any family members at the moment who could donate to him and hence expressed his gratitude to anyone reading the message who would like to help him by becoming a donor. He also shared how his family had lent him their unwavering support. Nick ended the note by saying that he was looking forward to better days and said:
