Former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has emotionally revealed an update on her mother Letitia after the 56-year-old was diagnosed with cancer for the second time in three years
Charlotte Crosby has provided fans with an emotional update on her mum’s cancer battle. The former Geordie Shore star, 35, was dealt with a personal blow when her mother Letitia was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, and although she beat the disease, she was diagnosed with form of skin cancer earlier in September this year.
Charlotte has now spoken out on her mother’s health, as she sat down for a new interview to discuss her fashion brand Pepper Girls Club, which she set up with her mum more than six years ago.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner invested £300,000 into her business but it has been plagued by various issues until very recently. Earlier this week, the brand achieved its first sell out launch, and Charlotte admitted that Letitia, 56, was the reason she persisted with it, especially when things took tricky turn during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She said: “I purely did it for my mum. My mum’s my best friend, so when she was made redundant, I wanted to be able to build something with my mum to keep her in a job and just to give her a bit of an easier life than having to go back into a full-time job.
“Throughout her breast cancer journey and her chemotherapy, she always came into work, she always wanted to (be) involved in every launch that we did, and she was so excited. It was her thing that kept her going and she’d totally forget about (the cancer).
“She was literally full of life and I thought that I just wanted to do this for her. My mam never really had very many good jobs when she was younger so she felt like she was really doing something.”
On the verge of tears, Charlotte said she was getting ’emotional’ and explained to The Sun: “It’s just kept growing and growing and growing and I do it for me mam really.” She also confirmed: “Now my mum is cancer free and she’s literally loving her life in the warehouse, picking and packing.”
In September, Letitia revealed to her 130,000 followers on Instagram that she had received the devastating news of her second cancer diagnosis just hours before boarding a plane to go on holiday.
She said: “It will likely result in a biopsy and a skin graft. “I had a bit of a shock, I went to the hospital about three hours before I was due to board a plane and found out I have skin cancer on my face. It it not great and certainly not what I wanted to hear either as I do actually wear factor 50.
“I don’t really talk about things like this and didn’t talk about my breast cancer too much. “This has really rocked me and shocked me and so I feel like it is something I should say and make people aware of as you have to be careful.”
When Letitia was first diagnosed with cancer, Charlotte emotionally explained on her BBC Two series Charlotte In Sunderland just what an impact it had had on the whole family. She said: “It’s hit us like a ton of bricks.
“She only went for a routine mammogram. There were no signs and no symptoms, so the diagnosis has been a massive shock.” It all came just weeks before Charlotte welcomed Alba Jean with her boyfriend, Jake Ankers.
When Letitia completed cancer treatment the first time round, Charlotte, who also has nine-month-old Pixi Cecilia, said: “She’s finished all of her treatment and she’s doing really, really well. She has to get her two jabs still and I think that’s for about five years. We’re just waiting on one more mammogram and if that’s all clear she can ring the bell.”
Letitia, who has developed a huge online following since her own daughter’s rise to fame, insisted at the time that every woman should have a mammogram regardless of age. She said: “I had no symptoms, no lumps, nothing. The mammogram has helped save my life. They should be inviting women of all ages to one every single year. Not just women over 50.”
