Sir David Beckham was knighted at a ceremony at Windsor Castle and was supported by his entire family – except from estranged son Brooklyn, amid tense family feud

Sir David Beckham was supported by his family as he received a knighthood for services to sport and charity. But, while most of the Beckhams rallied around him, there was a notable absence – his son Brooklyn snubbed the event.

David was announced as a recipient in King Charles‘ Birthday honours in June. The ceremony took place at Windsor Castle on 4 November. His wife, Victoria, attended the event and wore a chic navy dress with a matching headpiece. Also watching on were David’s parents, Ted and Sandra Beckham.

His sons Romeo and Cruz both shared a video of the moment their father was knighted on Instagram. Romeo then shared a snap of the whole family to Instagram, with a tribute to his father.

In the picture, he and Cruz pose in black suits, next to Harper Seven, who is in a black dress and holding her father’s hand. In the caption, Romeo wrote: “No one deserves this more than you, love you so much xxx Congrats Sir dad.” Brooklyn was not in the photo and has not yet posted about the occasion either.

This is the latest in a series of snubs from the eldest Beckham child. He also ignored his father’s 50th birthday, the premiere of his mother’s Netflix documentary, Victoria Beckham, and her Paris Fashion Week show.

Not only did he not attend the events, he also didn’t post about them on social media. Nor did he post about his brothers’ birthdays this autumn.

Brooklyn’s repeated snubs appear to be part of an ongoing feud between him and his parents. While both the elder Beckhams still seem to be trying to reach out and mend the rift by liking his Instagram posts, Brooklyn is adamantly not engaging.

According to reports, the couple currently have “no interest” in reconciling with Brooklyn’s parents or his siblings, Romeo and Cruz. A source has claimed that Brooklyn is “really focused on living a peaceful, drama-free life” with Nicola.

The 26-year-old currently lives in the US with his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham. The two recently renewed their vows, in a ceremony in Italy where her family was invited, but his were not.

“They’ve built their own world together and are very content in it,” the source said. “They want to let things settle naturally rather than trying to fix something that still feels tense.” Sources close to the Beckhams have claimed that Victoria and David have “accepted they won’t see Brooklyn for the foreseeable future”.

It is not clear why there is such a rift in the Beckham family, but some have speculated that it was caused by tensions between Brooklyn and Romeo over Romeo’s ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull.

The pair, who are rumoured to be back together, were in a relationship before Brooklyn split from the family, and her presence is alleged to have made Nicola uncomfortable, as it is said that Kim and Brooklyn dated before he met his wife. Kim has denied this ever happened.

Others have speculated that the rift was caused by a feud between Nicola and Victoria. Some reports have said Nicola was left in tears after Victoria allegedly disrupted the first dance. A source close to Victoria later revealed that the fashion designer was “mystified” by the accusations and did not understand how she could have “hurt” her daughter-in-law on the day.
