The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 is all set to deliver three days of electrifying cricket action from November 7 to 9 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. Returning for its 21st edition, the iconic tournament will feature its trademark six-a-side, six-over-per-innings format – a high-energy blend of power-hitting, athletic fielding and non-stop entertainment.

This year’s competition welcomes 12 teams from across the cricketing world, including heavyweights India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and hosts Hong Kong, alongside emerging nations Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, UAE and Kuwait. Following a successful 2024 revival after a seven-year break, the event continues its legacy as one of cricket’s most innovative and thrilling spectacles.

Hong Kong Sixes 2025: Format and rules

Each match in the Hong Kong Sixes features two teams of six players, each batting for six overs (36 balls). Every fielder except the wicketkeeper bowls an over, with one player allowed to bowl a second. Batters must retire not out at 50 runs but can return if all other wickets fall. When five wickets are lost, the last batter continues with a runner, and the innings ends after the sixth wicket.

This format is designed to reward aggressive batting and inventive bowling, encouraging players to take bold risks and deliver maximum entertainment – a true celebration of cricket’s fast and fun side.

Hong Kong Sixes 2025: Groups
