Inglis departs; David heads to the crease
Axar Patel has bowled Josh Inglis (12) but this has brought the big-hitting Tim David to the crease. If the tourists can quickly dismiss David, they will be well and truly in this contest.

India review fails
India are disappointed that a review for an edge off Josh Inglis off the spin of Axar was not over-turned. Indeed, they are filthy. Replays indicated there were two noises.
Axar makes breakthrough, Short departs
Matt Short’s exciting knock (25 off 19 deliveries) has ended, trapped lbw attempting to sweep left-arm spinner Axar Patel. The initial soft decision was not out, but this was over-turned on review, the ball pitching just outside the line but hitting enough of the stumps.
Australia are 1-40 in the sixth over
Major issues for India
Matt Short has plonked the medium-paced spin of Varun Chakaravarthy for six over mid-wicket, taking the home team to 0-32 in the fourth over.
Aussies make quick start
After three overs, Australia are 0-26. I dare suggest Arshdeep Singh (0-21 after two overs) will be replaced.
The long – and Short – of it
Matt Short puts the foot down and thumps the left-armed Arshdeep Singh back over his head for six. Two deliveries later, Short goes aerial through mid-off for four. India need a breakthrough.

Marsh handles Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah concedes only five off his first over, four coming from a push through the gully region by Mitch Marsh.
Australia are 0-11 after two overs
Short, Marsh at the top of Australia’s order
Matt Short has clipped left-armed paceman Arshdeep Singh for four to get the home team off to a good start. While Australia appears to be favourites to win this, much will depend on what Jasprit Bumrah can concoct. The great Bumrah has the ball now.
