On November 30, 2025, Jemimah Rodrigues took to her Instagram Stories and shared a cryptic post amid Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal’s wedding fiasco. The note mentioned that this year was a tough one, and surviving it was only possible because of the Almighty. Jemimah shared the note with a 100 points and raised-fist emojis. Jemimah’s cryptic post can be read as:

“Grace for every day, especially the hard ones. I didn’t make it through this year because I’m strong. I made it because god is good.”

Jemimah Rodrigues opted out of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) to support her friend, Smriti Mandhana

Jemimah Rodrigues, who became an overnight star with her performance on the field during the 2025 World Cup, had a Brisbane Heat match against the Hobart Hurricanes just ten days prior to her arrival in India. She came back to the country to attend her close friend and teammate, Smriti Mandhana’s wedding to Palaash Muchhal. However, after Smriti’s dad, Shrinivas’ health scare, the wedding was postponed. A few days ago, Brisbane Heat CEO, Terry Svenson issued a statement. An excerpt from the statement can be read as:

“Rodrigues returned home to India after the Heat’s match against the Hobart Hurricanes 10 days ago as part of a pre-arranged commitment where she was to be involved in Indian teammate Smriti Mandhana’s wedding last weekend. However, the celebrations were subsequently postponed due to a health issue with Mandhana’s father.”

Further in the note, Terry mentioned that Jemimah will not be returning to complete the remaining matches of the WBBL season. He highlighted that she took such a decision to support her friend, Smriti, who is currently going through a tough phase. He added that the Brisbane Heat has agreed to her decision. It is worth mentioning that Jemimah’s special gesture to stay beside Smriti has won a million hearts. An excerpt from the statement can be read as:

“Rodrigues will stay in India to support her teammate, and the Heat has agreed to her not returning for the final four games of the WBBL season. It has obviously been a challenging time for Jemi, so while it is unfortunate that she will take no further part in the WBBL, we were more than willing to agree to her request to remain in India.”
