The unexpected postponement of Akhanda 2 on December 5, 2025 sent shock waves across the Telugu film industry. The highly awaited Balakrishna–Boyapati Srinu actioner was expected to arrive with massive hype, but it’s indefinite delay now disturbed the subsequent line up of several other films.

‘All investments are fully cleared’
Many producers are assuming that when Akhanda 2 arrives, their films may face stiff competition at the box office. Moreover Akhanda 2 would occupy major theatres, and this is forcing the makers of other films to rethink their release strategies. Reacting to the buzz and reports, The Raja Saab producer TG Vishwa Prasad clarified with an emotional statement. Expressing disappointment, Prasad confessed that halting a film just before release not only affects its filmmakers but also many others who depend on its box-office performance. “It is unfortunate to see movies being stopped before release and the impact it has on the entire ecosystem,” he stated, clarifying about the rumours surrounding the release of The Raja Saab.

‘Cinema deserves integrity, not interference’
The Raja Saab has been long delayed with several interruptions and shooting only being completed recently. After Akhanda 2 faced an unexpected postponement due to financial issues, speculations rife that the Prabhas-starrer too may meet the same fate. Calling out a last-minute attempt to disturb their film’s plans, Prasad said, “Cinema deserves integrity, not interference. Such actions must be condemned.” He reinforced that all investments on The Raja Saab were fully cleared using internal funds, and the remaining interest would be settled before business opens, ensuring the film faces no hurdles. He described these disruptions as irresponsible and harmful, urging the industry to set strong legal rules to prevent such issues in the future. He also advised affected parties to consider legal action to discourage such behaviour going forward.
