‘Akhanda 2’ X Review: Fans Love The Song, ‘Jajikaya Jajikaya’, Compared It To The Prequel

Akhanda 2 is the sequel to Boyapati Srinu’s 2021 hit, Akhanda. The film features Nandamuri Balakrishna reprising his dual roles and was released in theatres on Friday, December 12, 2025, with paid premieres on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Several viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reviews of the film, with some using memes and others comparing the prequel to the latest release. 

Fans call Akhanda 2 a one-time watch, compare it to Akhanda 1

It seems like the audience is not impressed with Akhanda 2. The fans have been waiting for the film’s release for a long time. However, their expectations remained unmet, as frustrated X users expressed their dismay with the film. While some called it ‘cringe’, others noted that the screenplay was ‘directionless’ and the VFX were ‘cheap and had ZERO logic’. Another user called the film a ‘mess’ while acknowledging that Balakrishna as the superhero was fine. However, they didn’t see any scope for ‘2nd Balayyah’. 

While some expressed frustration with harsh language, others used memes to convey their disappointment. Meanwhile, fans found something to love and flooded social media with praise for one of the songs, calling it a game-changer for the hall’s atmosphere. Balakrishna’s performance was on point. However, the fans felt that the prequel had set the bar too high.

Netizens react to Boyapati-Balakrishna combo

The wave of comments on X comparing Akhanda 2 to the prequel hit the entire fandom hard. A user penned, “Done with Akhanda 2. Except for 2-3 scenes, the rest is boring. The first half, up to the interval, is boring. Expected more, but it could not match Akhanda. It’s average overall.” Another fan wrote, “Akhanda 1 was pure mass magic — iconic BGM, powerful elevation scenes, and NBK in his peak divine form. But compared to Part 2, it feels disappointing. The intensity, the magic, the emotional connect — all feel missing this time.”

A comment read, “Akhanda 1 set the bar sky-high, and Akhanda 2 just couldn’t match that legacy. Still, NBK’s screen presence remains the biggest strength of the franchise.” Other fans used memes to express their views on the film. An X user posted a clip from one of Boyapati and Balakrishna’s Hindi promotions, in which the director says, “Already humne bol diya, already caution kiya.” Another user posted a famous meme of Brahmanandam falling in shock as his wife tries to offer him coffee, writing, “#Akhanda2 Review (One Time watchable with low expectations) 2.25 / 5.”

The Jajikaya Jajikaya song saves the day

While the film left the audience somewhat disappointed, Balakrishna’s fans enjoyed not only his performance but also the song, Jajikaya Jajikaya and the interval sequence. The user called it the best moment of the film, noting that the crowd erupted in cheers during the ‘Ya Ya Jai Balayya’ chant. One excited fan wrote:

“The last 30 seconds of the Jajikaya Jajikaya song hit crazy in theatres. Thaman brought back the iconic Jai Balayya ending vibe from Akhanda Part 1 and remixed it into Akhanda 2. The moment that the Ya Ya Jai Balayya chant started, the whole theatre erupted. Pure nostalgia, pure rage, pure Balayya aura.”
