Hyderabad: K. Kavitha, the founder of Jagruthi, accused T News of publishing “false and defamatory” stories about her husband. For allegedly disseminating false information about their private and professional affairs, she demanded an unconditional public apology within a week.

Kavitha denied the accusations, claiming her husband had never done business on government property. “We conducted all of our business operations on private property. She clarified, “Neither my husband nor I have any connection to the land near IDPL.”

A powerful political counterattack was also launched by the former Nizamabad MP, who declared that she would “one day become the Chief Minister” and order an investigation into “all irregularities committed since 2014.”

Kavitha claimed that the Praneeth Pranav Villas project, which has “encroached upon a lake” and denied public access, involves the son of Kukatpally MLA Krishna Rao. She stated, “HYDRAA should remove these encroachments and restore the lake access if it has the courage.”

According to Kavitha, “the Congress has thrown the doors wide open through HILT,” while the BRS “opened windows for corruption by converting leased lands.” She further asserted that BJLP leaders Maheshwar Reddy and Krishna Rao were being used as proxies in a campaign against her by Harish Rao and the BRS leadership.

“For all the noise about developing Hyderabad, people are getting drainage water in their taps; that’s the real state of affairs,” Kavitha said, criticising the state government’s management of the city’s infrastructure.
