At least two people were killed and eight others injured in a shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, Mayor Brett Smiley said on Saturday.
Police received reports of multiple shots fired on campus at around 4:00 pm local time. Officers briefly detained one person, who they later said was “determined to have no involvement.” The suspect remains at large, police said.
