This Pakistani politician, whose role was portrayed by Rakesh Bedi in Dhurandhar, gets trolled for..., fans say, 'How did they get...'

Even after facing bans in several countries, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar continues to create strong reactions across borders. The film has now become a talking point in Pakistan after a video of a local politician reacting to the movie went viral on social media. His comments, especially about how a character inspired by him was portrayed, have opened up a fresh debate around the film’s reach and impact.

The viral video of Nabil Gabol

The viral clip features Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol speaking to reporters about Dhurandhar. It is widely believed that Rakesh Bedi’s character, Jameel Jamali, is loosely inspired by Gabol, though the film’s makers have not officially confirmed this. In the video, a reporter is heard saying, “India me ek film banayi hai Dhurandhar. Sunne me aa raha hai ki aapka kirdaar bhi hai usme.”

Responding to this, Gabol says, “Mera toh kirdaar bada hi important dikhaya gaya hai usme. Lekin main bas ek yahi baat kehna chahuga ki Dhurandhar me jo mera kirdaar dikhaya gaya hai mera role bahot dabangg tha. Aur dabangg is tarike se tha ki inhone mere role ko sahi tarike se nahi dikhaya hai.” He claimed that the film made him look less “dabangg” than he is in real life.

In the video, Gabol adds, “Aur inhone koshish ki hai Lyari ko terrorist hub dikhane ka, bilkul GCC countries ki meharbani hai, jitney Arab maalik hai unki meherbani hai ki unhone ban laga diya hai.” Towards the end of the clip, Gabol admits that he cannot take the matter any further. He says, “International community me jana padega. Uske liye paise bahot chahiye aur mere paas paise nahi hai.”

The social media trolling

After the video went viral, Gabol faced massive trolling online. Many users questioned how he managed to watch the film despite it being banned in his country. Comments flooded social media, asking, “How did the Pakistani get access to the movie?” Some users sarcastically wrote, “Literally so many people gave interviews on the movie as if they have watched it. Piracy maybe?” Others mocked him with remarks like, “Suar Jamali for a reason” and “It looks like he enjoyed it.”
