Simon Cowell, and his partner, Lauren Silverman, are soaking up the sun after the star’s new Netflix documentary, The Next Act, showed a rare glimpse into the couple’s relationship

Music mogul, Simon Cowell, and his partner, Lauren Silverman, have shared an adorable snap of themselves on a loved-up getaway.

The couple, who share son, Eric, 11, are soaking up the sun after letting the film crew into their home for Simon’s new Netflix show, The Next Act, in which he assembles a boyband, which he hopes will emulate the success of X-Factor icons, One Direction.

The documentary gives fans a rare look at Simon’s relationship with Lauren and now the couple have shared a intimate shot of themselves, snuggled up together on holiday onboard a boat. Posting the photo on Instagram, Lauren, 48, sporting a red bathing suit and Chanel sunglasses, looks delighted with life as Simon, 66, rocking black swimming trunks, puts his arm around her. The mum-of-two – who also shared a snap of a picture-postcard beach, with the tagline “candy-coloured sky” – simply captioned the romantic photo “Us” with a string of a red heart emojis.

As Simon sets to work auditioning the hopefuls, who are chosen to make up his new band, December 10, he is also seen in his Netflix documentary with his ‘adored’ partner as one episode shows Lauren signing paperwork to formally change her name by deed poll to Simon’s.

Simon, who was once one of the UK’s most notorious bachelors, has been very vocal about his reluctance to marry. However, he left fans stunned when he popped the question to Lauren on Christmas Eve 2021, insisting that the two will wed.

Stating that when they do waltz down the aisle, it will be private, he told US Weekly: “I always shied away from saying it’s going to happen whenever.

“When we decide to do it, it will be private, then people will know about it, but obviously the fact that she talks about changing her name, it’s quite obvious where all this is leading to.

“We have a very, very close bond. I adore her. We are a very happy family, genuinely.” Revealing that Lauren was initially reluctant to appear on camera with Simon in his new show, the music mogul said: “She was a bit reluctant [to be on camera] in the beginning, and then she got more used to it.

“The funny thing about her is that she is identical on the show as she is in real life. When I was watching the show back, I was absolutely cracking up at some of the scenes.”

In one scene, Lauren explains that it’s high time she change her name after still using her ex-husband’s surname, Silverman. Talking to the camera, she says: “Look, I have created a life with Simon, we have a child together, we have a solid relationship.”

The name change, she says, was ‘forming a unity’ with Simon and Eric, concluding: “This is more about the unity of our family and us having the same name. When we discussed it, Simon said: ‘Yeah, I would really like you to change your name’.”
