Kurnool: Industries, commerce and food processing minister T.G. Bharat said awareness is the most effective weapon in controlling cancer and stressed that the disease can be completely managed if detected at an early stage.
Speaking at an awareness programme organised by the Bachu Janakiram Foundation on the occasion of World Cancer Day at the municipal council hall here on Wednesday, the Minister highlighted the importance of recognising cancer symptoms, adopting preventive measures and undergoing timely screening. The programme was held for sanitation workers, and anti-cancer vaccinations were administered to their children aged between 9 and 14 years.
Bharat said there was a strong need to build public awareness on life-threatening diseases and advised people to opt for regular health check-ups instead of fearing cancer.
