Savannah Guthrie Reacts As Alleged Ransom Note Demands Million Dollars In Bitcoin For Nancy’s Return

Savannah Guthrie, a famous journalist and the co-host of the Today Show, has been navigating a tough phase in life, as her mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing. It was on January 31, 2026, when Nancy was last spotted at her home. At 11 in the morning of the next day, the family found out about Nancy’s disappearance, and a missing report was lodged. 

Since then, an investigation has been going on, and it was revealed by the authorities that it could be possible that Nancy, who is a ‘vulnerable adult’, known for her wit, was taken out of her bed, against her will, when she was asleep. The family has been focused on Nancy’s return, and amid this, TMZ received a ransom note, demanding a million dollars in Bitcoin in exchange for Nancy’s safe return. TMZ forwarded the ransom note to the Law Enforcement. Now, Savannah and her siblings reacted to the alleged ransom letter.

Savannah Guthrie took to her social media handle and shared a video, along with her sister, Annie and brother, Camron. The video was captioned as ‘bring her back’, while they issued a tearful plea to their mom’s alleged abductor. Savannah revealed that while they got to know about the alleged ransom letter, the first thing they need to know is whether Nancy is alive and safe. Revealing the reason, Savannah added that in the time when voice and photos could be easily manipulated, they wanted to be assured that their mother is safe and sound and with the alleged abductor who sent the ransom letter. Savannah could be quoted as saying:

“We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”

Savannah Guthrie talks about Nancy Guthrie’s health condition

It was earlier revealed that Nancy Guthrie had no cognitive issues, but she was not in a good state, healthwise. Sharing more about the same, Savannah added that her mom is 84 years old, and her heart is fragile. Savannah added that her mom remains in constant pain, and expressed her concern about her mom’s well-being now that she is without her medicine. Savannah mentioned that her mom needs to survive, and she shouldn’t have suffered in the first place. Savannah could be quoted as saying:

“Mommy is our heart and our home. She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer.”

In the same video, Savannah Guthrie thanked the well-wishers who offered their prayers and support to Nancy Guthrie during this tough time. She further shared an emotional message for her now-missing mom, Nancy, adding that the entire family is looking for the author, and that her kids will not rest until they find her. Savannah called Nancy was a devoted friend, who was a ‘funny, spunky, and clever’ person, while stating that the author was extremely loved by her grandkids. 

To mention, the authorities have been investigating minutely to check what exactly went wrong, while Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos ruled it as an abduction or kidnapping. It was Annie Guthrie, who last saw her mom after the family had their dinner on January 31, 2026.
