Fire in Women’s Hostel Triggers Panic in Musheerabad

Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a women’s hostel in Gandhinagar on Thursday triggering panic among those residing in it. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.

One of the hostellers switched on the geyser and forgot to switch it off before going to attend coaching classes. Owing excessive heat, sparks emanated from the geyser and as a result the premises engulfed in flames. On seeing the flames, around 10 hostellers staying in another room scampered to safety from the ground plus a single storeyed building.

On receiving information around 11.45 am, a fire tender from Musheerabad first rushed to the spot and later another vehicle from Gandhinagar outpost. The fire-fighters had to battle for over an hour to bring the situation under control. A laptop, clothes and other electrical gadgets were damaged in the incident.
