Gordon and Tana Ramsay have opened up about her own family feud amid the Peaty’s explosive fall out with their son Adam. The Olympic swimmer married Holly Ramsay in a glittering ceremony in Bath.
Adam issued a joint statement with Holly prior to their wedding, where they said the narratives had been “encouraged” by members of their family. He also added that there were “always two sides to every story”.
“This has been almost entirely one-sided and, in many cases, excessive and intrusive. It has been hurtful and upsetting to read, especially given the false basis upon which we have been targeted,” they said.
“What makes it worse is that it has been encouraged by members of my family. Bethany, Holly and I cannot go into details, given an ongoing police investigation into serious matters that arose long before recent events.”
Asked if they could see the feud ever being resolved, Gordon told the Mail: “I would like to go up to Nottingham with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand. It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend and so we had to respect that.
“There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. That’s nothing to do with Tana and me. But we are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together.”
Tana admitted things have been tough amongst her own family too. Her father Christopher was sentenced to jail nearly a decade ago for conspiring to hack into a computer system relating to Gordon’s businesses.
“We’ve had fallouts within my family, there are no winners. I’m so grateful we got through mine and have happy relationships again,” she said, “You don’t have to be best friends, but be civil. You can’t be happy when there’s a fallout going on. It’s really negative, and no one wants that.” Christopher was jailed for six months and his sons Adam and Christopher were jailed for four months.
The Peatys were locked in a feud with their son over her wedding to Holly Ramsay. On their wedding day, Caroline – Adam’s mum – did an interview where she said heart was “cut out”.
“I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out. This is the first Christmas that I’ve not had my family together – my family is broken. Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children, but my family is split because of the goings on – because of the wedding,” she said.
Adam and Holly married in front of Gordon and Tana Ramsay. Only Adam’s sister Bethany was present from his side of the family, but a number of celebrity guests and Adam’s friends were in attendance.
