‘With Love’ Review, Abishan, Anaswara’s Chemistry And Director Madhan’s Touch Hit The Right Note

Madhan’s new romantic film, With Love, is out now in theatres. Released on February 6, 2026, the film focuses on themes that we have seen in other movies. However, the presentation is completely new. The situation is the same where two people meet and fall in love. With Love features Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles. Notably, this is Abishan’s second film after the comedy-drama, Tourist Family, where his performance was praised by the critics and audiences. On the other hand, Anaswara has returned to Tamil cinema after a gap of around two years. The 23-year-old’s last Tamil film was Thugs, released in 2023 and a remake of a Malayalam film, Swathanthrayam Ardharathriyil. With Love has a familiar plot that works due to the screen presence of the leads

With Love has a simple premise. ‘Satya,’ played by Abishan, is not ready to marry anyone until his sister decides to intervene and fix his marriage with a random girl. ‘Satya,’ unaware of the girl’s identity, goes to a wedding after being requested by his sister, leading to his first meeting with ‘Monisha,’ portrayed by Anaswara. Things change when it is revealed that ‘Satya’ and ‘Monisha’ knew each other in the past, and they embark on a journey, meeting those who were previously in a relationship with them, aiming to find closure.

What makes this simple story an interesting watch is the casting of Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan. Viewers would always feel the vibes of love due to the duo’s screen presence. The characters have been written in such a way that people won’t feel irritated by any one of them. Although the story entirely focuses on the leads, it is the screenplay that will make anyone eager to see them together for most of the time until the end credits roll.

Madhan’s writing and direction are the main highlights of With Love

A film cannot impress you until the script and its execution are perfect. Madhan undoubtedly deserves full marks in this matter as he handles the subject in the best way possible. Although it lacks emotions due to the light tone maintained throughout With Love, it won’t divert anyone’s attention from the screen. The love stories of the lead characters get the best presentation, specifically on the side of Anaswara Rajan, where everything is fresh instead of following the routine formula.

The film moves at a different pace after the lead characters start meeting their school crushes. Madhan excels in this portion since he has added enough elements to keep the proceedings as entertaining as possible. The situations look so convincing that anyone would like to recall the time when they were school students. People will expect something new when they hear the story before watching the film. But it will change once they enter the theatre. 

Music, cinematography, and the supporting cast also leave an impression

Romantic films are incomplete without good music. Sean Roldan fulfils the requirement with his melodies that would be remembered until people reach their homes. Cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna also works perfectly as it suits the tone of With Love. Apart from Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan, the supporting cast also leaves a positive impression. The best among them is Kavya Anil and Sacchin Nachiappan, whose performances would be liked by everyone despite a limited screen presence.
