Chantelle Houghton, who famously won Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 despite not being a celebrity, has revealed that she is dating again but has refused to name her new man

Chantelle Houghton has revealed that she is dating again – after two years of celibacy. The reality star, 42, who shot to fame when she took part in Celebrity Big Brother as a non-celebrity in 2006 and actually won the series, had decided to stop dating again in recent years but has now revealed there is another man on the scene.

However, Chantelle, who famously married Big Brother co-star Preston following their time in the house and then dated TV presenter Rav Wilding before welcoming daughter Dolly with with Katie Price ’s ex-husband Alex Reid in 2012, has decided to keep things out of the public eye this time around.

She said: “I think my smile says it all. I have met someone. He’s not in the public eye, but that’s all I’ll say. I feel like all of my relationships have been public.

“The two relationships I had before Big Brother were the only ones that were private, but they weren’t really proper relationships because I was so young.

Chantelle noted that there was a “strain” on her previous relationships thanks to her celebrity status, and noted how “hard” that was to deal with at the time. Speaking to The Sun, she added: “Every relationship I’ve had since has been in the public eye, and hasn’t been mine, almost. Especially with Preston. Preston and I were everybody’s, and I get it.

“I understand why people were invested, and I totally found that flattering, but it was hard. It definitely put a strain on the relationship, and that was one of the biggest challenges we faced.”

Last year, the former model admitted she had been single for such a long time after calling off her prior engagement. Speaking to new!, she explained: “I have no love life! I’ve been single for many, many years now because of the circumstances that I was in.

“I wasn’t forced, but I was in circumstances looking after my little girl where I spent a lot of my time alone. I’ve always said that I’d rather be sitting on the sofa by myself than be sitting on the sofa with someone feeling lonely.

“There’s nothing worse than actually being in a relationship and feeling lonely and unhappy.”

Despite her contentment with single life then, the star explained at the time that she was not entirely against the idea of meeting a new man – but did not want to force anything.

She said: “I’m open to meeting somebody. I’m not closed off from it, but I certainly haven’t met anyone that I’d want to progress things with

“I don’t date, I’m not on any dating apps. If it’s going to happen, it will happen naturally.” At the time, she laughed as she revealed: “Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a few offers, but I’ve politely declined. Most of them are really old as well!”
