'Vadh 2' Ending Explained, Does 'Shambhunath' And 'Manju' Have A Link With 'Keshav's' Disappearance?

Vadh 2, the mystery thriller starring Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra, was released on February 6, 2026. The film is the second instalment of the 2022 film, Vadh. Recently, the lead pair, Neena and Sanjay, made headlines with their unrecognisable retro look at the Vadh 2 style shoot. Directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, the film is a complete entertainer that has both dark and funny elements. Now that the film has hit the theatres, let’s dive deep in to find out what happens at the end of the film.

Plotline of the mystery thriller, Vadh 2

The story of Vadh 2 revolves around ‘Manju Mishra’ (played by Neena Gupta) and ‘Shambhunath Mishra’ (played by Sanjay Mishra). While ‘Manju’ is serving a life sentence for a crime involving a young couple, ‘Shambhunath’ is a cop. The duo shares a special bond, and no one is aware of their secret chemistry. Just like ‘Manju’, another inmate, ‘Keshav’ (played by Akshay Dogra), brother of a powerful MLA, is also behind bars for committing different crimes. The story of Vadh 2 takes a U-turn when ‘Manju’ and ‘Shambhunath’ get involved to track down ‘Keshav’. They face several hurdles as they move forward to seek justice.

‘Keshav’ goes missing after ‘Prakash Singh’ criticises him severely for his wrongdoing inside the jail

Being the brother of a powerful MLA, ‘Keshav’ didn’t stop committing crimes inside the jail. However, when ‘Prakash Singh’ (played by Kumud Mishra) joins in as the new jailer, ‘Keshav’ gets criticised severely for his wrongdoing. However, the next day, ‘Keshav’ goes missing mysteriously. After a thorough investigation by ‘Ateet Singh’ (played by Amitt K. Singh), it was discovered that ‘Keshav’ was murdered.

Who killed ‘Keshav’? (Spoilers ahead)

As the film reaches its climax, it is revealed that ‘Keshav’s’ mortal remains are found in the backyard of ‘Prakash’s’ house. The investigating officer, ‘Ateet Singh’, finds ‘Prakash’s’ ring as evidence at the crime scene. But he is not the real killer. It is ‘Manju’ who killed ‘Keshav’.

Why did ‘Manju’ kill ‘Keshav’? (Spoilers ahead)

‘Manju’ kills ‘Keshav’ as the latter misbehaved with a young girl (played by Yogita Bihani) in jail. ‘Shambhunath’ was also present at the crime scene and helped ‘Manju’ to bury ‘Keshav’s’ body in the backyard of ‘Prakash’s’ house. While the audience might be wondering why the new jailer is getting framed, the major twist comes at the end of Vadh 2. 28 years ago, when ‘Manju’ got accused of a double murder, it was actually ‘Prakash’ who killed the couple.  For ‘Prakash’, ‘Manju’ was serving a lifetime imprisonment, and thus she and ‘Shambhunath’ framed him and put him behind bars.
