Ricci Guarnaccio has revealed he plans to marry his girlfriend, whom he met less than a year ago, after instantly falling in love when they started chatting on social media

Geordie Shore legend Ricci Guarnaccio “can’t wait to marry” his girlfriend. The reality star-turned-musician first met his girlfriend on social media just six months ago – but it was love at first sight.

The 39-year-old had feared that he wouldn’t find a relationship like that of his parents, who do “everything together.” But that all changed when aesthetics clinician Jenna Mumford landed in his social media inbox.

Instantly, Ricci spotted an attraction with Jenna, whom he started messaging for a month before they decided to meet. Blown away, Ricci asked Jenna to visit him at a DJ’ing gig in Guildford, and while he’s known for his previously lairy ways on the iconic reality show, for once, he was left speechless.

Reliving the moment he first set eyes on Jenna at his hotel, Ricci told the Mirror: “I was like ‘Oh my God, you’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen’. When we were in the lift, I was so nervous – I never get nervous. I was lovestruck as soon as I saw her. Two weeks after that, we were in Portugal for my birthday, and a week after that, we moved in together. It’s pretty fast, but we just clicked, I wouldn’t have it any other way – everything just fell into place so nicely.”

Despite his happiness, Ricci acknowledges that people may believe their relationship has moved “too fast”, but for him, it’s the “best relationship” he’s ever been in. “We’ve pretty much never left each other’s side,” he said. Ricci added: “I always wanted a relationship like my mum and dad, they’re in their 60s and 70s and they do everything together. That’s exactly the relationship I found with Jenna – it’s nice to find someone to push you and share the same dreams.”

Initially, Ricci worried that, by reaching his late 30s, he wouldn’t have found someone. Now, though, he admits seeing a long future with Jenna. “I can’t wait to marry her, she’s an absolute dream,” he gushed, before adding that she was “everything he’s wished for”. “There’s no drama, it’s just a solid relationship,” he said.

He commented: “It’s really amazing to have met her at this point in my life. I just feel like everything’s just perfect. It’s weird how everything can just come together.” Jenna is also on hand to support Ricci with his music career, which recently saw him sitting in the charts alongside Lady Victoria Beckham and megastar Harry Styles.

His latest track, Walk Away (feat. Robyn Hart) with N.Jay, saw Ricci sitting at Number 12 on the Big Top 40, just behind Arctic Monkeys. “I’m on cloud nine,” he exclaimed, adding: “With Victoria Beckham getting so much press, I piggybacked,” he laughed, before explaining: “The amount of love I’ve had for this single has been insane – it’s nice to see the progression and the journey that I’ve done for the past nine, ten years with DJ’ing and producing.”

For many, it may appear that Ricci has launched his career off the back of Geordie, but this isn’t the case. Instead, he’s spent years honing his craft at writing camps with some of the biggest producers, locking himself in his garage to master both DJ’ing and producing and has gone on to have his music featured on Love Island and the MTV network.

However, he is the first to say that he understands the perceptions people may have of his new career. “I’ve grinded my butt off,” he said. He went on to say: “For me, looking back, the progression that I’ve had, it’s all just coming together at the perfect time for us because I feel like I’ve learned so much.”

Still, he appears on Geordie Shore, which has entered its 26th series. The show, however, has massively changed. Gone are the days of falling out of clubs and getting into scraps; it’s more family-oriented. Ricci says the format “had to change”. “When we first started, we were going out and getting p****d and filming for six weeks, in Cancun etc we were going out twice a day,” he revealed, before adding: “We couldn’t do that now.

“What I love about the show, it follows our real lives. It’s a nice progression; it’s been going on for 15 years. And now it’s following our lives and seeing where we are.” The show, Ricci says, was due to end several years ago, but due to increased viewing figures, it remained on air. Ageing was another factor in the gradual shift for the show, with Ricci admitting that with the cast now in their 30s and 40s, there’s no chance they would be going out every night.

He admits it’s “nice” having his former cast mates, like Gary Beadle, Scotty T, Aaron Chalmers and Kyle Christie. “Some of us haven’t seen each other for a while,” he said, before adding that while some are purely work colleagues and have no friendship outside of the show, it’s still “fun to get away with everyone.”

When Ricci first joined Geordie, there were just eight cast members; now, there are around 18. “It’s crazy,” he laughed. “When we first started filming, it was just, ‘There’s a lot of drink, get yourselves smashed and see what you can f**k up tonight’,” he said of the early days. Now, though, this isn’t the case.

Ricci explained that the early days of his time on the show could have had an impact on his relationships and how women saw him. “When you’re having a relationship on the show, it’s difficult, you’re living out your relationship on TV,” he said. “It’s quite hard, people are going to have an opinion,” now, though, everything is “grown up”, but he has no regrets about his past antics.

“I’m well over that kind of stuff,” he said, adding that he joined the show in the “peak” of Geordie Shore and went on a learning process. “If people want to give me a stick from 14 years ago, it is what it is. I’m a lot better person now,” he said. Back in the day, the cast would down bottles of vodka and Jägermeister and be “smashed” before even hitting the clubs, which he says was “crazy”. During one trip to Cancun, he and Jay were drinking tequila at 10am, drinking twice in a day for six weeks. “We came back with IBS; we were ruined,” he said.

The format, he couldn’t be happier with – showing him and his castmates in a completely new light, away from booze, but instead capturing perfect memories with their friends and families around. And although some former cast members no longer acknowledge the programme which gave them a platform, Ricci is “appreciative” to MTV, Lime Pictures and now Paramount.

“I’m blessed,” he said, adding that he had been loyal to the network. But he’s the first to say not everybody is like this. “Each to their own, it really is,” Ricci explained. He went on to say: “I think we’re very fortunate. We get good money for doing Geordie for a few weeks of filming. It’s given each one of us the life that we could have only dreamed of. With other people not wanting to post about the show and stuff like that, that’s on them, really.”
