While Holly Ramsay is on her honeymoon with new husband Adam Peaty, her dad Gordon has spoken publicly for the first time after the family fall out with their in-laws
Adam Peaty and new wife Holly Ramsay appeared to ignore the drama surrounding their wedding as they posted more sun-kissed snaps from their never ending five-star honeymoon in Mauritius.
The newlyweds shared the same photo to their Instagram stories of them sitting on sun loungers on the beach over a month on from their December 27 wedding. As the blue sky met the turquoise sea, they captioned the post: “Nothing better.”
It comes as Holly’s celebrity chef dad Gordon clashed with new son-in-law Adam’s family while they are away. The fall out stems from Olympic swimmer Adam, 31, and Gordon’s daughter Holly, 26, uninviting most of Adam’s side of the family to their lavish wedding at Bath Abbey – a move that’s said to have left Adam’s mum Caroline feeling as if her heart had been “cut out”.
Gordon has since said the invite ban was Adam and Holly’s decision – and in a new interview claimed he wanted to sort things out and “draw a line in the sand” with Adam’s family. The Michelin star chef, 59, said he and wife Tana, 51, had also welcomed Adam’s family – and even treated them “like royalty”.

But hopes of a reconciliation now seem further away than ever after the latest development, which saw Adam’s family furiously hit back at the Ramsay’s claims, branding them “bullies” and saying they have been “pushed too far”.
Speaking publicly about the ‘feud’ for the first time, Gordon told the Daily Mail: “It’s just upsetting. It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them. We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.”
Asked if he and Tana could ever see the situation being resolved, Gordon said: “I would like to go up to Nottingham [where Adam’s family live] with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand. It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend [their wedding] and so we had to respect that. There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. That’s nothing to do with Tana and me. But we are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together.”
Tana agreed and added: “We’ve had fallouts within my family, there are no winners. I’m so grateful we got through mine and have happy relationships again. You don’t have to be best friends, but be civil. You can’t be happy when there’s a fallout going on. It’s really negative, and no one wants that.”
But Adam’s family have rubbished the Ramsay’s claims and said they are “outraged” at Gordon’s Ramsay’s comments. A source told The Sun: “The Ramsays did not treat Caroline like royalty at all – they treated her as though she was nothing. They ignored her existence, and not once did Mrs Ramsay return any of Caroline’s texts. The ‘get together’ lunch they promised on the day of the engagement never materialised either.”
The source continued: “We are outraged. Gordon is nothing but a big bully – and we hate bullies. How dare they – the sheer gall of them! You have pushed us too far!” In a furious rant, the relative went on to say that “if they had millions like the Beckhams” it would be different.
As for Holly and Adam, the pair have stopped short of saying anything publicly, especially in the lead up to their December wedding. Though in a post on social media, Adam hinted at the family fallout, insisting there are “always two sides to every story”.
He posted: “I am continuing to learn about myself and how I can be the man I want to be; a worthy partner, father, businessman, friend and athlete; even through these challenging times.”
The pair – who now both use the surname Ramsay Peaty – have been posting snaps of their loved up honeymoon since January 21. It’s thought they are staying at a five-star resort in Mauritius, where rates can hit over £6,000 a night. The holiday is thought to be a wedding gift from Holly’s parents, Gordon and Tana.
Sharing many a swimwear snap, the couple also got in the kitchen – with Adam donning chef whites like his famous father-in-law – to learn how to cook an authentic Mauritian curry. Holly also seems to be a huge fan of her new husband’s toned torso and posted videos and snaps of his tattooed physique, including tributes to her like the ‘H’ on his neck.
