David Beckham has showed off tributes to eldest son Brooklyn Beckham – despite the 26-year-old publicly cutting his family off with a scathing statement
David Beckham has continued to pay tribute to eldest son Brooklyn Beckham in posts on social media – despite Brooklyn publicly cutting his family off.
Taking to Instagram, the 50-year-old posted snaps of all the football boots he’d worn throughout his long career on the pitch from his ‘archive’, including some that bore 26-year-old’s Brooklyn name. The names of his younger sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, were also written on them.
It follows reports that Brooklyn had removed a tattoo tribute to his dad in what appears to be the latest dig at his family. Looking as though he is trying to remove any trace of their connection, Brooklyn was recently spotted with an altered tattoo on his right arm as he stepped out with his 31-year-old actress and heiress wife Nicola Peltz.
The inking initially showed an anchor and included the word ‘Dad’ in the centre. Underneath, it read: “Love you Bust.” But the words are now thought to have been removed and it’s said to have been redesigned to show three nondescript shapes across the anchor.

A source told The Sun: “Brooklyn’s had laser treatment on the writing. He wanted it gone.” They added: “There is so much hurt and pain on his side, it would not be genuine to keep such a tribute on his body.” It’s thought this is the latest family memory to disappear after Brooklyn allegedly had a tattoo dedicated to his mum covered over that was on his chest. The tattoo previously said the words ‘mama’s boy’.
Despite Brooklyn’s attempts to distance himself from the Beckhams, dad David continues to wear his own marking, regarding his son with pride. The former footballer posted a photo that shows the ‘Buster’ neck tattoo in honour of his son.
Meanwhile, David has also shown off an old tribute to Brooklyn alongside his other sons Romeo and Cruz as he revealed his vast collection of football boots. He shared a snap of a box filled with trainers from his professional career on his Instagram story – one of which had Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz’s names etched on the side of the boot. With the shoe taking centre stage in the snap, David wrote on top of the image “archive”, it was one of many snaps of David’s huge footie boot collection shared on Instagram last night.
It comes after Brooklyn made it clear he had no plans to reconcile with his parents after months of rumours of a feud between the once tight-knight brood. In his explosive statement last month, Brooklyn admitted he has no intention of reconciling with his family. Instead, he is focusing on his life stateside with his wife Nicola – and it’s been been reported that they plan to adopt a child together.
Raging on Instagram, Brooklyn said: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
He continued: “Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.
“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo op, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.
“We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ But the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.
“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”
He ended the post by saying: “I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
