John Harbaugh made another key addition to his first Giants staff, bringing in Mike Bloomgren to coach the offensive linemen, the Post confirmed.

Bloomgren, 49, has not previously worked for Harbaugh.

Last season was Holmgren’s only time as an NFL offensive line coach, on Kevin Stefanski’s staff with the Browns.

He first came into the NFL in 2007 as a Jets offensive assistant, hired by Eric Mangini, and remained with the Jets after Rex Ryan took over as head coach in 2009.

For two years, Bloomgren worked on the same Jets staff with Bill Callahan, a renowned offensive line coach.

From 2011-17, Bloomgren filled various roles on offense at Stanford, including offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.

His time at Stanford coincided with running back Christian McCaffrey’s rise to prominence.

What followed was a seven-year run as the head coach at Rice University.

The Owls never had a winning season under Bloomgren, finishing with a record of 24-52.

He then returned to the NFL to work for the Browns.

Bloomgren replaces Carmen Bricillo, a popular and productive offensive line coach for Brian Daboll.

The Giants in 2025 put together their best showing in years with that position group, finishing as the No. 9 unit in the league, according to Pro Football Focus’ grading system.

There are three returning starters: Left tackle Andrew Thomas, left guard Jon Runyan Jr. and center John Michael Schmitz.

The other two starters, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and right guard Greg Van Roten, are set to become free agents.

Marcus Mbow had a strong rookie season at offensive tackle, filling in on both sides.

The Giants also added Addison Lynch as their defensive backs coach, and he will work under new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson.

Lynch was with the Broncos the past three years and was fired by Sean Payon following the 2025 season. He previously worked for the Chargers, Raiders and Lions.

The biggest vacancy remaining on Harbaugh’s staff is quarterbacks coach.
